On the eve of its May 28-31 'Golden Oldies' weekend, the Great Central Railway added VCT-owned Sir Berkeley (MW1210/1891) to the event roster.rnThe Middleton Railway-based loco joined the previously announced line-up (RM June) comprising the Furness Railway Trust's 1863-built FR 0-4-0 No. 20, the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre's Beattie 2-4-0WT No. 30585, NRM-owned replica Rocket and the Manchester Museum of Science & Industry's replica 2-2-0 Planet.rnThe addition of Sir Berkeley was particularly apposite, for this Manning Wardle contractors' loco was once used by Logan & Hemmingway (a firm that worked on the construction of the GCR) and is known to have been employed on the Nottingham Victoria station site.
