Bursledon Light Railway opens to passengers

The Bursledon Light Railway carried passengers for the first time on April 11.rnThe railway, around 300yds long, is operated by the Hampshire Narrow Gauge Railway Trust at Bursledon brickworks, near Swanwick, Hampshire.rnThere has been a line atrnthe brickworks since 1995, but it was only operated in a demonstration capacity. The passenger-carrying railway is newly laid in heavier materials, the majority being alongside the older line.
