Underground drivers pay tops £50,000

A FOUR-YEAR wage deal between London Underground and the Rail Maritime & Transport union will see drivers' pay rise to more than £50,000. The deal sees staff get a five per cent pay increase this year followed by RPI (retail price index) plus 0.5 percent increases in the subsequent three years. The deal is in addition to any bonus agreements for working during next year's Olympic Games and offers the prospect of no industrial action over wages until at least 2015.
