LONDON Midland's Class 350/2 EMU fleet has set a new standard for reliability. The Siemens-built fleet of 37 units recorded no technical failures in the four-week period to September 30. The fleet ran 382,240 miles during this period and Siemens says this is a reco rd for a UK passenger fleet. Based on the 'Desiro' platform, the achievement is even more remarkable considering the first Class 350/2 entered service on December 2008, just 13 months after the contract for the sets was signed.
