THE North Norfolk Railway's March gala promises to be a major celebration. As alluded to last month (NNR gala report, p70), two big name locomotives are expected to arrive off the main line over Sheringham crossing for the event.The NRM's'Britannia' No. 70013 Oliver Cromwell is confirmed while details await confirmation before the identity of a similarly high-profile loco can be unveiled. It will be a very exciting pairing!The event should also see the return to service of the M&GNJR Society's B12 No. 8572. It presently looks likely that the B12 will be ready to run post-overhaul tests in grey primer at the East Lancashire Railway around November/ December following overhaul at Ian Riley's Bury works. It should return to Weybourne by the end of the year for painting.
