Restoration of the sole-surviving Class 28 Co-Bo, No. D5705, was stepped up when it was lifted from its bogies on September 24 at Bury, on the East Lancashire Railway. The cost of restoring the bogies will not be known until after the five traction motors have been lifted out and sent away for assessment. The bogies themselves are not expected to need a great deal of expenditure.
