Shortly after the narrow gauge pages of the May issue went to press, an eleventh hour deal appeared to emerge between the Isle of Man Government and the Isle of Man Railway & Tramway Preservation Society. loMR&TPS was under notice to remove all its locos and stock from Manx Government rail systems. In late-March, Department of Community, Culture & Leisure Minister David Cretney told the House of Keys that the three steam locos owned by loMR&TPS were being offered to his Department.
