Peace moves in Porthmadog

Therm understands agreement has been reached "in principle" for a Welsh Highland Heritage Railway special train to operate beyond Pen-y-Mount on FR/WHR metals on a date to be decided later this year. This move follows "a constructive and positive meeting" between John Prideaux and Martyn Owen, chairmen of the Ffestiniog Railway and WHR Ltd (operators of WHHR) respectively, on February 19 aboard the first public service train from Porthmadog to Caernarfon. They agreed to meet further to explore resolution of differences between the two companies.
