RVR/K&ESR'extension'trains unlikely

The March 19/20 public trains over the 'new' Rother Valley Railway (RM Headline News, May) may not be repeated. Although initial trains on the first day appeared well patronised, the K&ESR describes final figures for the weekend as "disappointing". The mile of RVR line from an end-on junction with the Kent 8 East Sussex Railway at Bodiam, through to a buffer stop a few yards short of Junction Road, required top-and-tail working by K&ESR locos. The additional costs have not been balanced by as many visitors as expected.
