A project to construct a Manchester, Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway Class 2 4-4-0 will be unveiled during the Great Central Railway's May 27-30'Golden Oldies Gala'. The GCR 567 Locomotive Group plans to re-create No. 567, a member of a class of 31 locos built between 1887 and 1894 at Kitson Works in Leeds and Gorton Works, Manchester. Built for the MS&LR, which subsequently evolved into the Great Central Railway, the locos once hauled expresses over the Woodhead route. Post-grouping they were adapted to become LNER D7s and the last survivor was scrapped in 1939.
