London Midland drivers' stalemate is resolved

The long-running dispute between train operator London Midland and the Aslef union has been settled. The dispute centered around differing pay and conditions following the creation of London Midland from the Central and Silverlink franchises. Silverlink staff had more holiday but were paid less. Sunday working for some staff was optional and, although overtime was paid, London Midland said its continuance was unsustainable.
