FEARS are rising that as many as 130 full-and part-time staff at London Midland could lose their jobs after the train operator announced proposals to cut the opening hours of 86 ticket offices. The reduction in ticket office opening hours ranges from 45 minutes to 14 hours per day. While the proposal is out for consultation with passengers and other stakeholders, West Midlands Passenger Transport Authority Centra is urging rail passengers to oppose the plan.
