'No'blow to Metro extension to Blyth

HOPES to extend the Tyne & Wear Metro to Blyth have been dashed following a Government announcement that the plan will not be considered before 2019. The Under Secretary of State for Transport, Paul Clark, said the extension to Blyth was "not in their priorities"for regional transport and that the £480million given to the North-East regional funding allocation was now fixed until 2019.
