Ian Storey's LMS'Black Five' No. 44767 George Stephenson left the Churnet Valley Railway on January 31. It arrived last November for the CVR/MCR gala opening of the revived Cauldon Lowe line. With the 48624 Locomotive Company Ltd's 8F No. 8624 leaving for the Great Central Railway at the end of February, this would leave the CVR with just Large Prairie No. 5199 as a working steam loco. While talks are in progress to secure another loco on hire for 2011, effort is being devoted to completing the overhaul of Greg Wilson's USATC S160 2-8-0 No. 6046 to ensure it enters traffic this year.
