The Bodmin & Wenford Railwy has produced a detailed specification for repairs to its Bodmin Parkway branch, damaged by flood waters in the early hours of November 17(RM Jan). Around 50mm of rainfall was recorded at Cardinham (near Bodmin) during the night of November 16/17 and water flooded onto the railway from the A38 trunk road beside a bridge that carries the main road over the B&WR. This caused significant damage to the track and lineside along a half-mile stretch between Colesloggett Halt and Bodmin Parkway. An insurance loss adjuster has visited and the report will encompass the corrective work required and likely costs. Repairs might start before Christmas, but certainly early in the New Year.
