'Santa'visits Dartmoor

The Dartmoor Railway ran'Santa Specials' from Okehampton to Sampford Courtenay and Bow for the three December weekends before Christmas. The plan was for British American Railways' main-line certified Class 31s Nos. D5613 (31190) and 31454 to be delivered to Meldon to top-and-tail these services, but the latter was snowed in at Derby. It was due to follow at a later date, hopefully in time for the post-Christmas mince pie specials. The train was intended to be Mk 2 coaches with courier coach No. 80225 for'Santa'with an electric train-heating supply from the loco.
