First ScotRail has accepted two Class 380 EMUs, which have entered service after commissioning trials. Units Nos. 380001 and 380102 worked a 15.30 Glasgow Central to Ayr service on December 9. The programme of delivery and commissioning of the Siemens-built Class 380s has slipped behind schedule. This has resulted in a delay in cascading Class 334 EMUs to the Helensburgh Central to Edinburgh services. The knock-on effect has seen the Airdrie-Bathgate service begin with a reduced service, supplemented at peak times between Bathgate and Edinburgh by Class 158s.
