Erlestoke Manor stars in B&WR gala

The Bodmin & Wenford Railway's Steam Gala & Real Ale Festival (September 7-9) was a big success. Star guest was GWR 'Manor' No. 7812 Erlestoke Manor, from the Severn Valley Railway, back on familiar ground having been West Country-based in the 1950s with spells at St Blazey and Truro sheds. It is thought this was the first time a GWR 'Manor'has steamed in Cornwall since the 1960s. Home-based locos in action were LSWR T9 4-4-0 No. 30120 and LSWR Beattie 2-4-OWT No. 30587 (both NRM-owned), GWR 2-8-0 No. 4247, and GWR 2-6-2T No. 5552.
