Two days of high winds, torrential rain and flooding left its mark on the rail network in late September. On the 24-25th, the weather left the following lines without services. Crewe-Runcom-Liverpoool Chester-Crewe, Chester-Shrewsbury and Crewe-Shrewsbury Bidston to Shotton and Wrexham Rock Ferry-Chester/ Ellesmere Port Derby to Stoke-on-Trent Bedford-Bletchley WiganWallgate-Southport Skipton-Morecambe Leeds-Knaresborough.
