A 12-MONTH trial that will offer older and disabled people with bus passes a third off train fares has been announced by Transport Minister Norman Baker. The trial means that concessionary bus pass holders will be able to claim discounted fares without buying an annual Senior Railcard, which costs £28. The trial will operate on two routes only - Worcester and Swindon via Stroud, and Westbury to Weymouth. It will apply to standard off-peak fares only to start with and the DfT will be assessing the trial to see whether to roll it out across the country on a permanent basis.
