Completion of Wallasea Island jetty pushes forward nature reserve plan

The 1,500-acre RSPB nature reserve being built at Wallasea Island in the Thames estuary has taken a big step towards its creation with the completion of a 180-metre jetty. The jetty will receive 4.5million tonnes of spoil,excavated during Crossrail's tunnelling operations in London.
