Preserved 'Pacer' cab comes in useful

The cab front end from Class 142'Pacer'No. 55709 of set No. 142059, which is owned by The Pacer Preservation Society (RM, May, p97) is helping replace other damaged front ends. Rescued from the vaults of Manchester Victoria station, a missing section has been replaced with a part from another damaged cab so that it can be used as a pattern to mould new fronts.
