The trapping of 700 passengers for three hours in a train that was partly in a tunnel has led to a number of recommendations being made by the Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB).rnThe failure of the 16.40 Brighton-Bedford service, formed of a pair of Class 377/5 EMUs, initially at St Pancras when the overhead electrification tripped out, and later partway out of a tunnel at Dock Jet North, occurred on May 26,2011.rnIt took three hours to get the failed train to Kentish Town to get the passengers off - including two hours to get a rescue unit to the scene and a further 50 minutes to couple up and move off.
