A memorial to railway workers, many of whom gave their lives in the service of the industry over the last 150 years, has been unveiled at the National Arboretum in Alrewas, Staffordshire.rnThe memorial is in the form of a Stanier 8F locomotive and carries the coats of arms of the Big Four, BR's lion & wheel emblem and the current double arrow logo. The service to unveil it was attended by more than 1,000 people, including former BR chairman Sir Bob Reid.
