The unique Mardyke-built 71/4in-gauge'Deltic' No. 55019 Royal Highland Fusilier is to make two appearances away from its Barnards Miniature Railway base in Essex. Owner Matthew Rutherford is taking it to the Coalyard Miniature Railway, Kidderminster on October 4. This line runs alongside the Severn Valley Railway station, and it is hoped to pose it with the full-size No. 55019 during the diesel gala on the same day. On October 5, the 71/4in-gauge loco will be visiting the Echills Wood Miniature Railway at Kingsbury Water Park, Warwickshire. Matthew replaced the original single Briggs& Stratton unit of the 1979-buit loco with a pair of 6.5hp Loncin petrol engines in 2012 (RM January 2013, p94).
