THE ongoing overhaul of Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns 0-6-OT Zebedee (7597/1949) has reached another key stage at the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway with the refitting of the cab to the frames. The one-time Rye House Power Station locomotive arrived at Ludborough from Peak Rail in 2014, since when the axleboxes have been repaired and the frames re-wheeled, and all of the valve gear has been overhauled and refitted. The front of the loco is now painted ready for the valves to go back into the steam chests, and the cab and bunker sprayed up to their final top-coat. It is hoped to get the valves fitted over the next few months and then the pistons and slide bars.
