Deal signed for Hull Trains AT300s

CONTRACTS valued at £60million have been signed between Angel Trains and Hull's parent company First Group for five Hitachi'AT300'bi-mode trains for Hull Trains. The five sets will be built at Hitachi's Newton Aydiffe manufacturing site and are expected to enter service during 2019, replacing the Class 180s. With plans for the electrification of the line to Hull from Temple Hirst Junction, south of Selby, having been dropped (see Headline News), the trains will run off the ECML on diesel power.
