Railbus to be restored after arson attack

The EM2 Locomotive Society's unique Baguley/Drewry diesel railbus OLIVe (No. DB 998901) will be restored following its severe damage in an arson attack in February at the Middleton Railway, Leeds. The blaze happened shortly after OLIVe's return from an extensive, £5.400 bodywork restoration by the Vintage Carriages Trust (VCT) at Ingrow on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway. It had been feared the damage was sufficiently extensive that scrapping might occur, but inspection by the VCT has confirmed it is restorable.
