A NEW signalling system for London Underground's sub-surface lines was tested for the first time in October. The system will allow trains to run much closer together, therefore allowing an improved service frequency. The computer-based signalling and control system from Thales will be rolled out to the Circle, District, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines, which together total 40% of the underground network.
