I HAVE written before about the need to take a 'doggy bag' if one is to embark on a long journey on crosscountry trains. Recently, I travelled from Birmingham to Cornwall on a Friday evening, luckily with a booked seat. At Cheltenham, I went to the trolley at the end of the train to get some food and drink. The steward had already closed it as he was to leave at Bristol TM, but said I could buy some wine if I had the right change - which I had. He said more food would come on at Bristol TM.
