The implementation of EU Safety Directives 49/2004 and 110/2008 in national legislation in each EU member state by 31st December 2010 entails the introduction of certification for rolling stock keepers and maintenance entities. In addition to certification, the European Railway Agency (ERA) requires maintenance management to be covered with fleet management and integrated verification management for the demonstration of safe railway operation and maintenance. It can also accommodate further-reaching requirements, as the software structure allows for this, and the system is easy to use, logically structured and simple to apply.%Mit der Umsetzung der EU-Richtlinie 2008/110/EG zur Änderung der Richtlinie 2004/49EG (EU Sicherheitsrichtlinie) wird eine für die Instandhaltung zuständige Stelle (Entity in Charge of Maintenance -ECM) eingeführt. Die Richtlinie sieht vor, dass ein Eisenbahnverkehrsunternehmen (EVU), ein Eisenbahninfrastrukturunternehmen (EIU) oder ein Fahrzeughalter die Funktion der ECM wahrnehmen können. Aufgrund des Umsetzungsdatums der EU-Sicherheitsrichtlinie 2004/49EG ist auch die Änderung mit der Richtlinie 2008/110/ EG bis 31.12.2010 in nationales Recht umzusetzen.
