In 2010, Calmmoon Rail received approval from the EBA as a rail clamper. Up to the end of 2011, over 40 km of track were equipped with this technology. In connection with the second economic stimulus package, the way this technique works was redefined as rail shielding. Measurements made in connection with the second stimulus package indicated a noise reduction effect of 3 dB(A) for this rail shielding. A combination of rail grinding, rail shielding and low noise protection walls would lead to an immediate reduction in the overall noise level of 10 dB(A).
