The Underwater Vacuum Cleaner

Since it was developed in the late 1960s, the Underwater Vacuum Cleaner has been adopted by BWR and PWR utilities for outage duties, particularly as a great deal of the annual cleaning work is achieved with the open reactor in a flooded condition. Other underwater applications, where this equipment has been used, includes fuel cooling ponds, refuelling cavities, transport containers, emergency recovery operations, pond decommissioning work, etc.
