Waertsilae and partners develop methanol fuel cell

Finnish engine maker Waertsilae and its partners are developing fuel cell technology as an alternative means of power for coastal and deepsea vessels. Fuel cells are cleaner and cheaper to operate than conventionally fuelled ships. Is this a fuel of the future?rnIn Finland the expectation is that coastal or inland vessels will be powered through the use of fuel cell technology within the next 10 years.
