Size matters

Generally when aiming for a low noise propeller design a good wakefield (Figure 1 shows an example of a wakefield which has been optimised in close co-operation with the propeller designer) is a solid basis for achieving outstandingly quiet propeller designs. In the following the characteristics of a high quality wakefield are outlined.
