Although, at present, offshore wind farm transfer vessels are certainly becoming larger than before, most architects are still playing it safe and opting for models that accommodate no more than 12 wind farm technicians, chiefly to avoid the ambiguities - and related costs - associated with upgrading to 'passenger ship' status. However, while vessels with capacity for more technicians may well become a standard future feature within this sector, orders for more compact solutions show scant sign of drying up.
