Cargotec wins Norwegian and Malaysian orders

Deck equipment supplier Cargotec has recently secured a series of orders for active heave-compensated (AHC) cranes from offshore clients.Norwegian operator Volstad Maritime has commissioned Cargotec to supply two crane types -namely, a 250tonne, MacGregor AHC subsea crane and a 15tonne MacGregor AHC offshore model -for an 125m loa, ice-class offshore construction vessel newbuild, which is being built at the Bergen Group Posen yard in Norway, and which will be chartered for subsea intervention services following delivery in August 2013. The deal builds on an identical agreement forged between the companies in April last year, when Cargotec supplied a Volstad newbuild, slated for delivery in July 2012, with AHC cranes.
