Cargotec joins autonomous ship ecosystem

The world's first autonomous ship ecosystem is to be created for the Baltic Sea by 2025 in an initiative involving Rolls-Royce, Ericsson, Meyer Turku, Wartsila, Tieto and Cargotec, amongst others. Cargotec, a specialist in cargo and load handling solutions, aims to develop cargo operations for fully autonomous or remotely operated vessels as part of the project, building on the progress its Kalmar business area has achieved with regard to more automatic and autonomous container terminals.
