Cavitation tunnel in transit

A £1.5 million (US$1.94 million) investment in Newcastle University's School of Marine Science and Technology will see the refurbishment and relocation of the University's Emerson Cavitation Tunnel. The fund aims to create a Centre of Excellence for Marine Hydrodynamics, Coatings and Materials, and will involve the moving of the tunnel to a new, purpose-built research centre in the port of Blyth, where it will join the University's research vessel, Princess Royal.
