More stainless-steel chemical tankers from Mario Morini

During the current year, the Mario Morini shipyard, based at Ancona on the Adriatic coast of Italy, has completed two 4800dwt chemical tankers with stainless-steel cargo tanks, thus adding to Italy's reputation as a leading builder of advanced ships of this type. Indeed, this particular yard has accumulated extensive experience with several ships of this kind, including the 12,000dwt Turchese in 1999, which was notable for a Waertsilae/ABB diesel-electric plant using twin 3300kW ABB propulsion motors geared to one propeller. Still under construction at Morini is a 5200dwt chemical tanker and a smaller design of 3200dwt, which will both feature stainless steel tanks.
