A new class of very fast full-displacement ferries is now entering service with Minoan Lines. Four virtual sisters, ordered from Fincantieri's Genoa-Sestri yard, are designed to cut the Piraeus-Heraklion service from 11 hours to six hours, with equal savings on other routes.
