This year's SMM, staged in Hamburg, saw Amot showing what it termed a "new generation" XTS-W Bearing Condition Monitoring System designed to enhance real time monitoring of crank train bearings in two-stroke slow-speed diesel engines. The XTS-W is designed to provide early warning of bearing wear, and to avoid what may turn out to be catastrophic consequential damage to associated engine components.
