Offshore vessel boiler works on DC grid

Norwegian boiler manufacturer Parat Halvorsen has recently received an order from Kleven Maritime for an OSV boiler plant, powered by direct current rather than the usual AC supply. The ship, a combined PSV and sub-sea construction vessel, is being built to Marine Teknikk MT 6015 design for Myklebusthaug Management, and is scheduled for delivery in February 2013.
