Maersk Drilling targets big data maintenance savings

Maersk drilling is collaborating with GE on a pilot project that aims to harness data analytics to increase the productivity of drilling vessels and reduce maintenance costs by up to 20%. The ship owner has deployed SeaStream Insight, GE's marine asset performance management, powered by its Predix industrial internet platform. The pilot project, which will be carried out on an XLE rig over 12 months, has reached its first milestone. Data collected from the rig is currently being processed and analysed online.
