JUMBO APPOINTS HUISMAN FOR OFFSHORE MAST CRANES

Jumbo has appointed Huisman Equipment to design and build two offshore mast cranes for a DP2 heavy lift crane vessel (HLCV) to be delivered in the first quarter of 2020. The main crane of the HLVC will have a 2,500-tonne capacity and features a triple hoist to allow for complex upending operations. The crane has an active heave compensation (AHC) auxiliary block of 600 tonnes with a depth rating of 3,000 metres. The second subsea crane will have capacity for 400 tonnes with an AHC main hoist to control the position of a load relative to the seabed. This crane, positioned to service the moon pool, will also have a depth rating of 3,000 metres and will be equipped with a man-riding whip hoist.
