Energy: No Magic Solutions

Energy is a much used word these days-and with good reason. The long lines at gas stations in 1973 and the shortages of natural gas last winter were dramatic demonstrations of our limited energy resources. Clearly, this reliance on petroleum cannot continue. The United States cannot afford to wait to take action until we find our gas tanks empty, our homes cold, our industry idle, and our national security threatened.
