Air Force Publishes Infrastructure Energy Plan

In October, the Air Force 2008 Infrastructure Energy Strategic Plan was published. The plan focuses on demand-side efficiency and supply-side alternatives for facilities, ground fuels, ground vehicles and equipment and is built on four pillars: improving current infrastructure; improving future infrastructure; expanding renewables; and managing cost. The pillars rest on en-ablers such as planning, programming and budgeting processes; data systems to guide Air Force investments and decisions; and energy awareness to ensure that improvements in technology are integrated with a meaningful change in Air Force culture.
