NEW BIM STANDARD RELEASED

The buildingSMART alliance, a council of the National Institute of Building Sciences, has released the latest edition of the consensus-based standard governing building information modeling (BIM). The National BIM Standard-United States (NBIMS-US) Version 3 (V3) covers the full lifecycle of buildings-from planning and design through construction and operations. NBIMS-US V3 was developed through a consensus process with input from building professionals. The Project Committee received 40 submissions; the full committee membership voted to approve 27 for inclusion in the standard, which now totals over 3,100 pages of content.
