With any luck this year's quarantines, alarums and excursions will soon be nothing but an unpleasant memory, and we will be inhaling fresh breezes blowing over the starboard quarter. Fresh breezes are certainly a feature of Paul Jones's account of his acquisition of an Albert Strange yawl and subsequent adventures. They also make life complicated for Julian Blatchley as he points a big tanker down a narrow channel in the Middle East, aiming at a small harbour entrance with two less-than-courageous tugs in attendance.
