British Airways crew fly 'monitored approaches', which means that unlike other airlines, where a pilot lands off his own approach, one pilot flies the approach and the other takes over at decision height/ altitude (or sooner if visual reference is achieved) and then lands. This has led to anecdotal stories from the past (notably on the-dare I say-Trident), where if the approach hadn't gone particularly well, the pilot flying the approach handed over the a/c to the landing pilot, earlier ratherthan later, with the phrase "I thinkyou can get in off that"!
